- April 2012. Hyoungbu Back presented the paper "Schedubability Analysis and Priority Assignment for Global Job-Level Fixed-Priority Multiprocessor Scheduling" in the 18th IEEE Real-Time and Embedded Technology and Applications Symposium (RTAS '12). The authors are Hyoungbu Back, Hoon Sung Chwa, and Insik Shin. This paper proposes new well performing JFP(job-level fixed priority) scheduling algirthm, EQDF and analysis technique for that by introducing new priority criteria, quasi-deadline to capture important properties, urgency and parallelism of real-time system on multi processor. It is also presented optimal solution and heuristic solution for quasi-dealine assignment problem.
- April 2012. Jiyeon Lee made special strawberries for strawberry festival eve.
- March 2012. Hwidong Bae, Hoyong Jang and Jiyeon Lee joined CPS Lab.
- March 2012. Prof. Shin was appointed as an associate professor in Department of Computer Science at KAIST.
- February 2012 Jinkyu Lee and Hyosu Kim recieved best paper reward.
- October 2011. Hyosu Kim presented the paper "Aciom: Application Characteristics-aware Disk and Network I/O Management on Android Platform" in the 11th ACM International Conference on Embedded Software (EMSOFT '11). The authors are Hyosu Kim, Minsub Lee, Wookhyun Han, Kilho Lee and Insik Shin. This paper presents a new Android platform that provides differentiated I/O management services for Android applications according to their characteristics.
- April 2011. Jinkyu Lee presented the paper "Maximizing Contention-Free Executions in Multiprocessr Scheduling" in the 17th IEEE Real-Time and Embedded Technology and Applications Symposium (RTAS '11), and won the Best Student Paper Award. The authors are Jinkyu Lee, Arvind Easwaran and Insik Shin. This paper presents a policy that utilizes contention-free slots effectively, and derives a counter-intuitive claim that shortening of task deadlines can help improve schedulability of task systems.
- March 2011. Jaebaek Seo and Wookhyun Han joined CPS Lab.
- December 2010. Jinkyu Lee presented the paper "LLF Schedulability Analysis on Multiprocessor Platforms" in the 31th IEEE Real-Time Systems Symposium (RTSS '10). The authors are Jinkyu Lee, Arvind Easwaran and Insik Shin, and this paper investigates the characteristics of LLF (Least Laxity First) scheduling algorithm, and derives the first LLF-specific schedulability test on multiprocessors. Jungwoo Yang has presented the paper "Implementation of Compositional Scheduling Framework on Virtualization" in the 3rd Workshop on Compositional Theory and Technology for Real-Time Embedded Systems held in conjunction with RTSS '10. Prof. Shin, Jinkyu Lee, Changki Hong, Minsup Lee, Hoon Sung Chwa, Kilho Lee, Hyosu Kim, and Jungwoo Yang participated in RTSS '10.
- October 2010. Jinkyu Lee presented the paper "Online Robust Optimization Framework for QoS Guarantees in Distributed Soft Real-Time Systems" in the 10th ACM International Conference on Embedded Software (EMSOFT '10). The authors are Jinkyu Lee, Insik Shin and Arvind Easwaran. This paper introduces the notion of K-failure to bound the effect of random failures on schedulability, and the notion of K-robustness that quantifies the degree of robustness on QoS guarantee in a probabilistic sence. Based on these notions, this paper presents a robost optimization framework for maximizing the aggragates QoS in the presence of random failures.
- September 2010. Andrii Shyshkalov has received "Excellent Award" in 2010 Winter/Spring URP (Undergraduate Research Participation Program) Workshop. In this research, it is addressed how to plan trajectory of multiple robots without collisions. Observing a tradeoff between reducing computation time and reducing robot moving time, it is proposed an algorithm that exploits this tradeoff by adaptively adjusting a parameter - an upper-bound on the number of segments on robot paths.
- April 2010. Hyosu Kim and Kilho Lee joined CPS Lab.
- December 2009. Our CPS Lab presented three papers in Work-in-Progress Session of the 30th IEEE Real-Time Systems Symposium (RTSS '09 WiP). Two of them are selected among the top 5 (out of 24) and invited to ACM SIGBED Review. In addition, Jinkyu Lee co-authored another paper in the session, which he has worked on during his summer internship in Portugal. This paper has been also selected among the top 5 papers and invited to ACM SIGBED Review as well. Prof. Shin, Jinkyu Lee, Minsup Lee, Hoon Sung Chwa and three undergraduate students participated in RTSS '09.
